One Loudoun's outdoor season is down to two Fridays and one weekend. The Moonlight Market holds its final Friday on October 30. The next afternoon, the Asia in a Bite Food Fest opens the last weekend of a series that has run since May. After Sunday, November 1, the center's events page lists nothing else for 2026.
This year the events are wrapping up just as the new block of Exchange Street, built through 2026, reaches its first winter with a bakery, an ice cream shop, a full-service restaurant and a planned skating rink already in place. Starting in November, the regular draw is a set of storefronts on one street rather than a weekly calendar.
The Last Ten Days, in Order
The final week of the season overlaps with most of Ashburn's Halloween events, and a few of them share time slots. Here is the sequence from this Friday through November 1.
Date | Event | Location | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
Fri, Oct 23 | Moonlight Market | 20387 Exchange St., One Loudoun | 5 to 9 p.m. |
Sat, Oct 24 | 8th Annual Halloween Bark Bash | One Loudoun | Noon to 3 p.m. |
Sat, Oct 24 | Ashburn Village Halloween Spooktacular | Sports Pavilion, 20585 Ashburn Village Blvd. | 6 to 7 p.m. |
Sun, Oct 25 | City View Church Fall Festival | Goose Creek Village | Listed for Oct 25 |
Fri, Oct 30 | Final Moonlight Market | 20387 Exchange St., One Loudoun | 5 to 9 p.m. |
Fri, Oct 30 | Brambleton Movie Night on the Green | Brambleton Town Center | 7 to 9:30 p.m. |
Sat, Oct 31 to Sun, Nov 1 | Asia in a Bite Food Fest, series finale | 44578 Atwater Dr., One Loudoun | 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. |
Pet owners have two costume contests on Saturday the 24th. The Bark Bash at One Loudoun is the center's signature pet event and runs from noon to 3, with a dog costume contest, a trick-or-treat trail, local pet businesses and rescue groups bringing adoptable dogs. That evening, the Ashburn Village Spooktacular has its own pet costume contest, with the winner announced at 6:45, plus candy and free glitter tattoos at the decorated Sports Pavilion. That event is free for Ashburn Village residents. Voting in the Ashburn Village Halloween house tour contest is open through midnight on Monday, October 26, and winners in the single-family and townhouse categories will be announced the next day.
Friday the 30th has the closest overlap. The final Moonlight Market runs until 9, and Brambleton's Movie Night on the Green starts at 7. The market is billed as The Maker's Valley Friday Market, a mix of local makers, small businesses, artists and bakers. It is free and open to all ages. An early visit to Exchange Street still leaves time for the start of the movie.
The Asia in a Bite finale brings 40 food vendors, more than 10 merchandise vendors and a DJ all day. Admission is free, but the listing asks visitors to RSVP.
What Exchange Street Didn't Have a Year Ago
Each of these places on Exchange Street opened in 2026, so this is the first cold season for all of them.
- Arhaus, 20312 Exchange St., opened its store and showroom in April and offers in-store design consultants.
- Alo was welcoming customers by the start of May, according to The Burn.
- Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, 20290 Exchange St., started scooping on June 2. It is the brand's third Virginia location.
- Tatte Bakery & Cafe, 20300 Exchange St., opened June 10, according to The Burn.
- Bartaco, 20365 Exchange St., Suite 211, is the county's first location of the chain and soft-opened in late September.
- Monkee's of Loudoun, 20366 Exchange St., is a women's boutique that set October 15 as its opening day, with a grand-opening weekend running through October 18.
Bartaco took a long time to arrive. The Burn first reported the plan in September 2024. Over the next two years, a freestanding restaurant building went up, staff were hired and trained, and service began. During the soft opening it served dinner only. Its One Loudoun page now lists kitchen hours of 11 a.m. to late, daily, so a lunch stop on a weekday in November is an option.
Taken together, the block covers a whole day: Tatte in the morning, Bartaco from late morning on, and Van Leeuwen for dessert. Arhaus, Alo and Monkee's fill the time between meals. Last October, Exchange Street had none of these, and that is the difference this fall.
The Lawn That Changes Jobs in Winter
The clearest sign that the block is meant to keep going after the market season is Bartaco's front lawn. Northern Virginia Magazine reported on October 13 that the turf lawn and outdoor bar in front of the restaurant will become an ice skating rink in the winter months. No opening date or hours have been published, so check before planning a skate.
The holiday calendar is also still blank. Last year's 13th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting was on Saturday, December 6, 2025, with Santa photos, train rides and ice carving. One Loudoun has not posted a 2026 date. Until it does, November at the center depends on what is open on Exchange Street.
Still Behind the Construction Fencing
The block isn't finished. According to Northern Virginia Magazine's October 13 roundup, these tenants are still on the way:
- Pottery Barn, a standalone building of about 13,260 square feet that started construction earlier this year.
- Williams Sonoma, nearly 5,800 square feet in the same new section.
- Madewell, a space of nearly 4,300 square feet.
- Anthropologie, next door to Lululemon and across the street from Kendra Scott.
None of the four has announced an opening date. Several others have been reported but not confirmed. L.L.Bean is expected in the former Container Store space, which would be its first Northern Virginia store since the Tysons location closed in January 2022. Free People Movement is considering a space of about 3,700 square feet. The Burn reported that Vuori is looking at a spot between Van Leeuwen and Tatte. A 169-room Tempo by Hilton planned for the new section is expected to open in 2027, according to The Burn.
The restaurants and cafe are already operating. The bigger retail buildings around them will open on their own schedules.
The Other Ashburn Opening to Watch
One more opening is coming to a different part of Ashburn. The Burn reported on October 8 that Cozmo One is taking over the former Roadhouse Momo & Grill space at Ashburn Village Shopping Center off Gloucester Boulevard. The Chantilly location includes a grocery store and butcher shop, but only the bakery and restaurant are coming to Ashburn, with a menu of shawarmas, wraps, rice platters, pizzas and burgers. The team told The Burn it hopes to open in November or December if everything goes smoothly.
For more seasonal coverage, our August look at Ashburn's three overlapping calendars covers the summer side of the same area. Our Ashburn neighborhood page gathers it all in one place.
Exchange Street is a good example of how new businesses change what a neighborhood offers from one season to the next. If you're curious how changes like these play into Ashburn's housing market, Diana Geremia follows these openings closely and is happy to talk through what they mean for your street. Let's Connect.
